Accu-Pressure Safety Caps<br />I too appreciated the apparent ease and convenience of this product, so much so I purchased enough to cover 3 cars, 1 truck and a boat trailer. However, after 4 or months, these things are no longer accurate. They become DANGEROUS! Unless you are servicing your tires with nitrogen, the moisture and impurities in common shop air (and the tire itself) contaminates the tiny mechanism. I found that on ALL gauges, they were always green even if one was 1, 2, 5 or 10 LBS low. Furthermore, I experienced one tire that consistently leaked about 10 lbs of pressure per day. After several examinations and leak tests on the tire, I could not locate a leak source. However, the tire continued to leak. I finally replaced the Accu-Pressure cap and the leak stopped. I ran a test and found the clear cap was leaking. Just recently I experienced a severe leakdown on a trailer tire ultimately causing a failure and damage to the trailer fender. After replacing the tire I tested the Accu-Pressure cap. Again, a leak had initiated around the clear cap. Beware folks - these things are dangerous. I have since removed all Accu-Pressure caps from my vehicles.
